PRIIPs are packaged investment products with investment risk whose value is derived from reference securities and which are part of many financial products.
The entry into force of the PRIIPs Regulation on January 2, 2018 is supposed to create higher transparency for investors when they acquire Packaged Retail and Insurance-Based Investment Products (PRIIPs). From that time on, manufacturers need to procedure appropriate Key Information Documents (KIDs) for every financial instrument relevant to PRIIPs, which must be handed out to the customer by the distributers before the conclusion of a contract.
The identification of PRIIPs relevant financial instruments with its relevant information such as, for e.g. the SRI (risk indicator), the available KID versions, the complexity indicator (or warning) and other master data are displayed under this profile.
The query profile PRIIPs (Packaged Retail and Insurance-based Investment Products) includes amongst others the following data fields:
Please note that, for licensing reasons, most of the above PRIIPs fields are exclusively available in the wmProfile query profile for PRIIPs Reference data and thus are not available in the wmView Securities Master Data.
This security, which according to manufacturer data is PRIIPs relevant, has a risk indicator of 4 (SRI). A current - statically by the manufacturer provided - KID is present. The KID is available in the WM European Documents Hub (EDH). The KID in version 1 (updated on 15.02.2018 08:16:17 UTC) contains no warning and is available in German for the designated countries of Germany, Austria and Luxembourg.
The field GD496A - PRIIPs identifier, indicates if the product is relevant to PRIIPs. UCITS funds receive a special identification.
The PRIIPs identifier is applied to all 3.7 million active securities. In January 2018, more than 2 million products had a positive identifier for PRIIPS and over one hundred thousand were marked as UCITS funds.
This field provides the source (manufacturer or WM Datenservice) on which the PRIIP identification in field GD496A is based.
WM-field GD497C indicates which method has been applied to determine the risk indicator in field GD496H. This WM-field has the following table attributes:
