For licensing reasons, a few products from our data provider WM Datenservice are not available in WMACCESS. This includes, among others, the product A & R II with data fields such as GD258L.

Now there is a visual indication of an unsupported WM field in wmGuide by an exclamation mark at the top left hand - as shown in the following images:

Due to backup and maintenance work every Thursday and Sunday from 01:00 to 06:30 WMACCESS was not available.

By investing in additional disks and a quadrupling of memory as well as the optimization of the backup strategy we don't need the former regular maintenance window any more. As of February 7th 2013 WMACCESS offers a 24/7 access to WM-Data.

The two fields GD194 Bloomberg Global Identifier BBGID and GD867 short-selling ban identifier (both master data) will be frozen. For GD867 there is a replacement: GD867A EU short-selling ban identifier.

SEDOL codes

Due to licensing reasons, SEDOL codes can no longer be provided by WM Datenservice in the field GV875 National Securities Identification Numbers. All existing SECOL codes will be removed on February 25, 2013.

It is the IaaS (Infrastructure-as-a-Service) provider for DNS.

On 8th and 9th of November 2012, our previously used three DNS servers operated at two location-independent data centers were not available because of a small hardware failure in a network component which resulted in a downtime of 49 minutes in total. As promised we have analyzed the situation and now use a solution from Dyn with a global IP anycast network with a total of 17 data centers. Dyn are the world leaders in internet infrastructure and have never let a client go down! Uptime is the Bottom Line.
