General questions
Is WMACCESS available 24/7?
Yes. Since 7th of February 2013 WMACCESS is available 24/7.
We operate WMACCESS Internet redundantly in two data centres.
The primary operation takes place in our data centre in Germany and the fallback operation
in a data centre in Austria. Both locations are self-sufficient and not dependent on each other,
so that a failure of one data centre has no effect on the operation in the other data centre.
There is no single point of failure.
We do not formally practise the switch of WMACCESS operation once a year, but we perform
this change of operating location several times a year as part of regular (at least 8 times
per calendar year) maintenance work. The manual activities for a change of operating location
can also be carried out independently of the data centre location, and such a change is
usually associated with an interruption of less than 60 seconds.
Our uptime statistics can be viewed at uptime.wmaccess.com.
The externally performed checks for our website are carried out at 15-second intervals.
Historical uptime statistics are also available on

I cannot access WMACCESS. Where can I report the problem?

WM Datenservice with its headquarters in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
Who is the operator of WMACCESS?
Operator of the WMACCESS Internet Platform is CPB Software (Germany) GmbH with its headquarters in Miltenberg, Germany.
Is there a privacy policy for the WMACCESS Website?
Yes, the handling of private data is important to us and regulated in our privacy policy.
Is there an English user interface too?
Yes, WMACCESS is multilingual. After registering with WMACCESS you can change the language to English via the toolbar. If you want this alteration for your user account on a permanent basis, please contact our customer service and we will immediately change this setting.
Questions about Test access
Does a test access have to be terminated?
No. A test access ends automatically after 7 days or when the maximum number of queries is exceeded. There is no automatic renewal.
I can't find any data for the Security I am looking for. Why?
The test system does not contain the entire data universe with more than 71.3 million instruments. In the test phase you can query some selected Securities only. Therefore take a look at the available data in the test system and recommended test cases.
After pressing the search button nothing happens. It seems the screen "hangs". Why?
Probably your browser surpresses JavaScript messages and is unable to show a message box with "No data found".
If your browser surpresses JavaScript messages, problems like this will be caused.
Please complete the interactive check of the

Where do I find what the abbreviation of a particular WM field means?
wmGuide provides functional field descriptions on every WM field. Besides a usually comprehensive description of the field content, also the relevant table values (forms that a WM field can take) are presented in detail. Within the scope of test access up to 6 wmGuide queries can be performed.
Is there a possibility to test the WMACCESS scope of functions?

Why has my test access already expired after 7 days?
Due to the misuse of test accesses in the past we unfortunately had to take precautions. This includes the automatic expiration of the test access after reaching approx. 50 queries in wmView or wmProfile or 6 queries in wmGuide.
Why do I not get a test access?
Due to the misuse of test accesses in the past we unfortunately had to take precautions. An email-address can only be used once for the request of a test access. Email-addresses of some free providers are excluded from the activation of a test access. Please contact us in these cases and we will activate a test access after a phone conversation.
How can I request permanent access to WMACCESS?
A permanent WMACCESS access requires a service contract. Please contact our customer service in order to discuss the further procedure or download the pdf-file and send us the filled out and signed contract by mail.
How long is the test access valid, if it was applied for on a Friday?
Saturday and Sunday are not considered for the seven-days test access, thus a test access that was applied for on Friday at 5:30 PM is valid until Wednesday 5:30 PM. Should the duration of your test access be impaired by holidays, please contact our customer support for an extension.
Contract / price models
Can I change the price model that I selected upon conclusion of the contract?
Yes. The price model can be changed with 2-weeks-notice by the end of the month for the following billing month.
How long am I bound to the contract?
The WMACCESS service contract is in effect for an unlimited period of time; however, it can be cancelled with a one-month-notice by the end of each quarter.
What are the differences between the three price models?
Three price models are available in order to address different customer groups concerning the frequency of usage.
What does WMACCESS cost?
The cost of WMACCESS depends on the chosen price model. All in all three different price models are available for the intensive, occasional and sporadic use.
Is there a flat rate price model?
Yes, in combination with a data license by the WM Datenservice the WMACCESS Inhouse Solution offers a flat rate for an unlimited number of queries as well as an extended scope of functions.
Do I need a contract with the WM Datenservice for the use of WMACCESS?
No, a separate contract with the WM Datenservice is not required for the use of WMACCESS via Internet.
How can I cancel WMACCESS?
A cancellation of WMACCESS via Internet must be sent in writing, stating your customer number and the desired cancellation date, to CPB Software (Germany) GmbH, Im Bruch 3, D-63897 Miltenberg.
I need access to WM data for only a couple of months a year and a monthly fee will not pay off. Is there a more flexible price model for these cases?
Price model 3, also called WMACCESS On-Demand, is perfectly suitable here. Costs only arise when it is really used within a calendar month.
How quickly can I get permanent access to WMACCESS?
Very quickly. As soon as we have your signed contract, you will immediately get your access data.
Which "lead time" is required to change the price model?
The price model can be changed within a period of 2 weeks to the end of the month for the following billing month.
Is there a minimum usage period of WMACCESS?
No, there is no minimum usage period - however, a cancellation period of one month to the end of each quarter must be kept.

Which price model should I choose, what can you recommend to us?
The determination of the ideal WMACCESS price model primarily depends on the number of performed queries. The queries are divided into various query categories (T1-T6) each at different prices. Since a "logical" query can generate a hit in various query categories, a general statement is not possible. Also the individual usage behaviour and the field of queries (master data, investment fund prices, income data, etc.) are decisive.
Based on "1 (T3-) query = detail display of securities master data for one ISIN", however, we can give the following recommendation:
For up to 52 queries per month price model 3 is most suitable.
For up to 206 queries per month price model 2 provides cost advantages.
If more than 206 queries are performed per calendar month, we recommend price model 1.

What do the query categories T1 to T6 and G1 to G6 mean?
On the page settlement modalities you will find an overview of the query categories. Invoice / Billing
What does the monthly invoice include?
The monthly invoice includes a cover sheet with the basic fee as well as the accrued query costs. The annex to the invoice contains an overview of the performed queries per user account.
How will the new e-invoicing law affect WMACCESS invoices from 2025 onwards?
With the new Growth Opportunities Act, which comes into effect in Germany on January 1, 2025, electronic invoicing for domestic B2B transactions will become mandatory.
We plan to use the statutory transition period likely until the end of 2025 to adapt the WMACCESS invoicing system to the new e-invoicing requirements.
Until the transition is complete, the monthly WMACCESS Internet invoices will continue to be provided as PDFs (not e-invoices) via email. If you prefer to receive a paper invoice instead, please let us know.
What formats for electronic invoices are supported?
We are currently evaluating the possibility of supporting multiple formats for electronic invoices, such as X-Rechnung and ZUGFeRD. The formats will be selected based on technical feasibility and customer needs.
Will e-invoices also be issued for invoices outside of Germany?
Starting in 2026, all WMACCESS invoices will be issued through a new billing system. This will enable the support of e-invoices for B2B transactions in Germany. Customers outside of Germany will initially continue to receive PDF invoices in a new layout. Depending on the capabilities of the billing system, it is planned to support and use e-invoices for additional countries.
Will the information from previous invoice attachments (query counts per user account and per query reference) also be included in e-invoices / invoices from the new billing system?
No, these specific detailed pieces of information will not be included in future e-invoices or invoices. Instead, we offer an improved solution: These data will be provided in a structured Excel file, sent separately from the invoices via email. This file is easy to navigate and analyze and includes three worksheets:
- Overview: Lists all user accounts under your customer number and shows the number of queries in the respective fee categories (T1-T6 and, if applicable, G1-G6).
- Query References: Shows the total queries for the used query references. For unused references, "*No data*" will be displayed along with the total queries for categories T1-T6.
- Detailed List: Provides a chronological list of all WMACCESS queries (T1-T6), including the access time, username, query profile, and type of query (hit list, detail view, field history, etc.).
Currently, the worksheets "Overview" and "Query References" do not include cost information. However, with the introduction of the new billing system for price models 1 and 2, it is planned to display costs in these worksheets. This option is already available and can be activated free of charge by contacting our customer support.
When will further information about e-invoices be available?
Additional details regarding e-invoices for WMACCESS will be available throughout 2025. In this context, we will likely require further details from our customers, which we will collect through a separate email request. As soon as additional information about e-invoices is available, we will notify you via this FAQ page and the monthly invoice emails.
Can I still receive a paper invoice for WMACCESS Internet during the e-invoicing transition period?
Yes, if you prefer a paper invoice instead of a PDF document, we can provide this upon request until the end of 2025. Please inform us.
Are procurement and purchasing platforms like SAP Ariba, Coupa, or Tradeshift supported?
No, we currently do not have direct integration with procurement and purchasing platforms for WMACCESS Internet invoices. However, we can send invoices, including future e-invoices, to email addresses associated with these platforms.
I did not receive an invoice - what could be the reason?
If you use price model 3 and no usage (no queries) was recorded in a given month, no costs will be incurred, and therefore no invoice will be generated. If you use a different price model or did not receive an invoice despite having made queries during the billing period, please contact our customer support.
Who can I turn to when our invoice address has changed?
Please contact our customer service. Please have your access data (user name) or customer number at hand for fast processing.
Who can I turn to when our company rebrands?
Please send us the information on the rebrand in writing and do not forget your customer number (see invoice). You can find the email address on our contact page.
Is the value added tax displayed on the invoice?
For customers with a domicile in Germany VAT is displayed.
For customers with a domicile within the European Union we need your VAT-ID for the VAT-free exchange of goods and services.
Can queries be assigned to specific cost centers?
Yes, this is possible through a up to 15-digit query reference (eg for cost centers, mandates or projects). On a separate attachment to the invoice, the total number of performed queries (and for price models #1 or #2 the incurred costs) for each query reference individually chosen by you is reported.
Can additional user accounts, e. g. for the allocation of the costs to various cost centres, be created and how long does it take?
As a matter of course we will create additional user accounts for the access to WMACCESS for you. The monthly costs amount to 10.00 Euros for each additional account, depending on the accounts already included in accordance with your price model. Please contact our customer service - as a rule, the generation of new user accounts only takes several minutes and they can be used immediately afterwards.

When is the data updated?
- Securities master data, issuer data as well as corporate actions from the WM product GAT: 5 times a day between approx. 07:00 AM and 08:30 PM
- Investment fund prices: 7 times a day between approx. 07:00 AM and 9:30 PM
- PRIIPs Reference data: 2 times daily
- All other segments / data products: 1 time daily in the evening

Can I also download the data?
Our WMACCESS software indeed supports this function - the use of this function with WMACCESS via Internet, however, is not permitted by the data provider WERTPAPIER-MITTEILUNGEN. WMACCESS Inhouse Solution allows downloads -individual hit lists and detail displays.
Can I be given notice when WM data change?
Yes, this is possible via our service wmObserve. With wmObserve you will receive an email notification when predefined events like the alteration of WM date fields, corrections of interim profits or accumulated dividend equivalent amounts, new or altered income data, or many other events occur.
Can I also receive data feeds via WMACCESS?
Yes, we can also generate individual data feeds from WMACCESS - our philosophy is to generate easy and uncomplicated data feeds for an easy integration.
What does WMACCESS data feeds distinguish from other data feed providers?
Standards are good and important and so are future-oriented technologies. However, the unnecessary complexity of data feeds often leads to a higher integration effort in legacy applications. As an innovative software manufacturer and service provider CPB Software responds fast and flexibly to their customer wishes and also generates individual data feeds in accordance with your requirements regarding content, layout and format.
Why can't I find a GD / GV field in the master data detail display?
For licensing reasons, some GD / GV fields are not included in the detail view for the work area (G) master data in wmView. These fields can, for example, be contained in the Profile Investment Fund Characteristics in wmProfile. In our search function Where to find the WM-Field? You can enter a specific WM field (for example, GD441 "Investment funds") and find out in which wmView or wmProfile query profiles a WM field is contained in the detail display.
Where do I find historical data on WM fields?
Historical data on individual WM fields, e. g. ED008A (total dividend/income) can be viewed in wmView with a click on the field's name. Due to the extensive amount of data the history is not available for all fields and only for a limited number of months.
Where do I find the ADDI / accumulated deemed distribution income?
The accumulated deemed distribution income can be inquired via the search mask investment fund prices, interim profits.

Are historical investment fund prices and interim profits available in WMACCESS?
Historical investment fund prices and interim profits incl. stock profits, real estate profits, accumulated deemed distribution income (ADDI), net asset value, accumulated surplus, etc. are available in the query profile "Investment fund prices, interim profits" retroactively back to the year 1994 or since the first data provision.
Is historical income data available in WMACCESS?
The history of corporate actions data, which include income data, general meetings, conversions and capital measures, are available retroactively up to at least 5 years, usually considerably longer.
Does WMACCESS also provide rating information from Moodys, S+P or Fitch?
No, for licensing law reasons WMACCESS Internet does not provide rating information. In the case of a bilateral agreement with rating agencies and the WM Datenservice, however, users of the WMACCESS Inhouse Solution, can import rating information to WMACCESS and display, export or rework them together with other master data.
Is the data also available in English?
Partly yes. Many information fields like "Dividenden Zahlungsart" are delivered as key information, e. g. "16". On the basis of meta data (table) WMACCESS displays the long text, e. g. "Barausschüttung und ausschüttungsgleicher Ertrag/anzusetzender Teil des Mehrbetrages". In the English user face WM provides the translation, in this "Cash distribution and deemed distribution income or portion of increase, of German partial growth funds". The same applies for complete field descriptions in wmGuide. In December 2009 most field descriptions relevant for the fiscal point of view were also available in English.

When was a field delivered / Where do I find the delivery date of the field content?
The WMACCESS field history allows the display of the historical characteristics of many WM fields including the delivery date.
Can I also inquire about data with the securities number VALOR?
Yes, via the query profile Alternative parameters WMACCESS users can use the identification familiar to them in order to find the desired security as well as the relevant ISIN and WKN. The national securities identification number (For example, VALOR) can also be entered as a search criterion (WM-field GV875) in the expert search for master & income data.

Where can I find out how many queries have already been performed in the current month?
You can find this information in the Access report. Here you receive a detailed overview of all queries, initially sorted by query profile. A double click on a line opens the detailed overview with the exact time of access.

Are there any tips for the effective use of WMACCESS?

Can I also use WMACCESS outside of my office or from abroad?
Yes, WMACCESS can be used from every PC with internet access to www.wmaccess.com. The technical requirements, however, must be met.
Can several users work with one access ID (that is one user account) at the same time?
Yes, one access ID or user account can be used by any number of users at any number of work stations.
Are fields that are entered with a new release, automatically displayed in WMACCESS, too?
Yes, as long as the new fields are included into the existing WM products (GAT, IFP etc.) and no additional licenses are necessary.
Where can I change my password?
In the WMACCESS menu (Home button in the toolbar) you will find the menu entry "Administration". Click on it in order to get to the mask for the administration of your profile. Here you can change your password. For your own safety you will have to enter your current password first.

Yes, for this purpose the optional module wmPos for portfolio-related queries in wmView and wmProfile is available.
What is the expert mode of the search function?
This search function provides further search criteria for a more precise limitation of the search. Usually additional data fields and / or master data fields are offered.
What is meant by "History" in the WMACCESS menu?
This menu entry provides the function Query history. WMACCESS saves all performed queries that lead to a hit list or detail display of a user during a session in wmView and wmProfile. These are fast and easily available via the Query history.
